Recommendation HOOMIL for Google Pixel 4A Case, Premium PU-Leather Flip Wallet Phone Case for Google Pixel 4A Cover (Black)

I thought it was worth recommending this cover for my Pixel 4A because of the enhanced access benefit it provides. . The initial case I bought, a so called Rugged model was hopeless for my needs so I was soon in the market for a replacement.

In addition I did not want a protection system which relied on screen protectors. For whatever reason I do not find the screen responsiveness of my Pixel 4A brilliant. I do not want to impair this further.

The third requirement is that I wanted easy physical locking of the screen to enable me to still listen to Talkback or media even if the phone is unlocked by the Android system. I explain more about this below.

This wallet style cover has been brilliant for my personal needs. It is an imitation leather style wallet cover but does not feel particularly cheap or plastic.

The phone fits securely into the case. I am able to thread a neck lanyard (not supplied )through the 3.5mm earphone jack hole on the case which allows the phone to live securely handing around my neck. I use the quick release on the lanyard if I need to release the phone for serious interaction with Talkback.

If required you can store debit or credit cards in slots in the screen cover but I have never used it for this purpose.

The screen cover is held securely by a magnetic clasp when covering the screen. When accessing the screen the cover flips around behind the phone and is again held securely by the magnetic clasp this time flipped around to the back.

The great access benefit of this cover is that it is ideal if you are using apps which are inhibited by the screen locking , like, for example, video or TV apps like BBC iPlayer. This means I can happily be getting on with something else, even the washing up, whilst listening to a TV program with no danger of accidental touches of the screen interfering with playback.

It means that you can physically lock the screen from interference as opposed to virtual Android locking, if you are for example listening to a Kindle book with TTS running. You could happily just stick the phone in your pocket and carry on listening to your Kindle book with the cover protecting the screen.

The case appears to provide full access for both the fingerprint reader and camera though I have not been a user of either feature. I will get around to trying out object identification and OCR on the phone eventually but do not think this will be a particular problem. In the worst case scenario temporary removal of the phone for any operation is straightforward and simply involve prising the phone back out of the wallet style holder.
